Alumni Basketball League
The Alumni Basketball League began in the summer of 1981, when 50 alumni composing six teams began playing games of shirts and skins basketball in the former Lower School gym. The MUS ABL was founded by cousins and former Owl basketball players Tommy Peters '73 and Judd Peters '81. The ABL plays in the summer and has two divisions. The "B League" is for players who participated in athletics in high school or college and want to continue playing in a more competitive environment. The "C League" is best described as the league for the person whose love and appreciation for the game outweighs his abilities on the court. For more information on the ABL, contact the commissioner.
Alumni Softball League
The fall of 2004 marked the inaugural year of the Alumni Softball League (ASL). Owen Tabor, Jr. '85 organized the league, which fielded four teams: the Spots, the O'fers, the Brew Crew, and the Cloud of Dust. In the 2005 season, all four teams returned to play, and the league welcomed three new teams: the Softballs, the Slawdoggs, and the Regulators, who clinched their fourth consecutive ASL title in 2008.
All games are played at beautiful Thorn Field, beginning in September. Commissioner Tabor hopes the build the ASL by adding new teams. If you are willing to rise to the challenge and play in the ASL, contact Owen Tabor.
