Students take on the responsibilities of witnesses and attorneys in the High School Mock Trial Competition. MUS has entered a team in the local Mock Trial competition for the past two decades, as long as the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division has sponsored the event.
Teams receive the case in late November and prepare both the prosecution and defense. MUS alumni who are attorneys in the Memphis area volunteer to coach the student teams. The 2010 local competition will take place at the Shelby County Courthouse in February, and the statewide competition will take place March 19-20 in Nashville.
