The mission of the MUS College Guidance Department is to prepare and counsel students for placement in colleges and universities that match their goals, academic potential, and special interests. The program begins in the eighth grade with academic advising and information dissemination, continuing through junior year and fall of the senior year when regular group and individual college meetings and standardized testing begin. The process culminates in the spring on the national college notification date of April 1. Visit the College Counseling Center for brochures, pamphlets, college guide books, and handouts.

MUS uses Naviance Family Connection to help families manage the college search and application process. Juniors can log on here.

All seniors should:

  • have one or more TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS turned in to Mrs. Roosa. Remember: all applications start here. Do not wait until you have completed your application.
  • report college responses to Mrs. Roosa as soon as they are known.
  • report to Dr. Baer any scholarship offers, even from schools to which you did not apply.

If you have questions or you need to schedule appointments, contact Dr. Emily Angel Baer, Director of College Guidance. Explore the following links for information about applying to college. Also visit Counseling Services for information about academic, personal, and career issues.
