MAISLIC Formed in 1980 under the leadership of Memphis University School to facilitate library cooperation among its members, MAISLIC membership is open to all Memphis independent schools. Member libraries are Lausanne Collegiate School, Memphis University School, St. Agnes Academy / St. Dominic School, and St. Mary's Episcopal School. A primary goal of MAISLIC is to use technology to better serve the libraries' communities. To that end members share a fully integrated online catalog that increases the libraries' efficiency and provides users with Internet access to their collections. Students and faculty enjoy circulation privileges at all MAISLIC libraries. In 1981, MAISLIC became the first independent school member of SOLINET/OCLC, an international bibliographic network.
JoAnn Lynn, President (SAA-SDS) BIRTHDAY BOOKS The Library Birthday Book Club offers a unique way to say "Happy Birthday!" Adding a book to the Hyde Library collection in honor of a student’s birthday benefits his classmates and others who will follow at MUS for years to come. It is also a great way to honor someone from the MUS community (teachers, administrators, staff and alumni). The recipient is sent a birthday card. In addition, a commemorative birthday bookplate is placed in the book with both the recipient's name and the name of the donor. The gift is recorded in the Development Office. Contact the library for further details.
VOLUNTEER AT THE LIBRARY Parent volunteers make up a vital part of the MUS library program. Help is needed with processing new materials, shelving books, creating displays, special projects, and filling in at the front desk. Parents can sign up at any time by contacting the library at (901)260-1390.
