Remember to follow copyright laws when using images from any source. Most sources have a copyright warning; images and videos are covered by educational fair use standards. The library has a large collection of videos (VHS and DVD) and other media that can be found by searching the Library Catalog; add "and video$" to your word or phrase to limit results to videos. Safari Montage 2,000 videos from PBS, A&E, and other partners of the Library Video Company are available for our faculty and staff to use on campus through their faculty usernames and passwords. Ask for the password from the library and use it to register for your own account. Also check out TLC, Travel Channel, Science Channel, and Discovery Health. Annenburg Media This video company offers free videos on a variety of subjects but requires you to create a username and password first. Check "remember me" to skip the login step the next time. Archaeology Channel Watch dozens of news and video clips researching history and culture. Berkeley Video Courses 177 Berkeley Video Courses ranging from biology to engineering to math. Channel One News program specifically produced for young adults. The site offers video clips of its show, along with its on-air full-length production. Free Science Videos and Lectures A blog that has culled lectures from youtube.com and others under easy to find subject headings. Videos are subject to availability from youtube. Google Video Project It's not just a search function. Google has hosted thousands of free videos, some educational and some not. Click on Videos Hosted by Google to get those results only. The History Channel This site features "This Day in History" video clips, plus clips from their on-air shows. iCue MIT and NBC News have created a new media experience to support teaching and learning in AP U.S. History, AP Government and Politics - U.S., and English Language and Composition. iCue offers students and teachers access to NBC News’ coverage of important events and topics (along with the coverage of The Washington Post, The New York Times and news outlets), and reinforces students’ classroom learning by linking the media to the curricula for those classes. This link takes you to their Free Audio and Video Titles Directory. Moving Image Archive Library of free movies, film, and videos ranging classic full-length films to daily alternative news broadcasts. Includes "What to Do in a Zombie Attack," "Sailing on San Francisco Bay," and "Coffee House TV." Arranged by subject, this site is easy to browse. NASA Watch the latest videos and news about the NASA space program. National Archives As part of the Google Video project, you can view National Archive historical video from this site. National Geographic Video This site offers videos by subjects including Animals, Travel, Science, and Daily News. Each section is then further divided into more specific subjects and features 15 second ads before each film. Check out the video "Elephants Mourning" under Animals, or "California Fires Force Evacuation" under Environment. NOVA From PBS, some NOVA programs are available to watch online and are divided into easily loaded sections. OpenVault Provides online access to unique and historically important content produced by public television station WGBH for individual and classroom learning. The ever-expanding site contains video excerpts, searchable transcripts, and resource management tools. OVGuide Online Video Guide is a portal to free video resources. Science Daily Latest news in research for science and health. SuTree Online video resources that offer teaching lessons and programs for education. Most of the top videos are 'how-to' videos.
