New eReaders
The Hyde Library now owns thirteen e-readers:  6 Sony Readers, 6 Nooks, and 1 Kindle.  Readers can be used on campus during the school day or checked out for a week with a parent's signed permission.  Content will be added by library staff based on availability and student need or interest.  Request and permission forms are available at the Welcome Desk or here.

Practice Tests and Study Aids
The Practice Tests and Study Aids page gives you access to all of our resources for homework help and SAT, ACT, and AP review.  These sites offer video explanations of difficult math concepts, science experiments, or homework guides, as well as access to scholarship and financial aid information.  From this page, you can also check out College Resource materials from the MUS College Counseling Center.

Library Apps for your Phone
Library applications are available for your iPhone.  Use the iTunes Apps store to find Worldcat and Gale applications.  These apps allow you to access the library's catalog and do a search.  Ebsco has a mobile-interface website available; you can search for journal articles right from your smart phone. Use the same password you use for the database.

World Book Encyclopedia has a mobile-interface website as well; usually their main site will automatically re-direct to the World Book Mobile; but if you have trouble, you may need to use this one.

Library Blog
Hyde Highlights.  Check out the latest on new books and library events.

Newsletter
The library produces a two-page newsletter every other month which discusses the latest library events and highlights new books.  Check out the latest newsletter or the archive of past newsletters.

Book Clubs
The library-sponsored book clubs are led by our own MUS faculty, but the book clubs choose their own selection and meet together during lunch or study hall to discuss it.  If you want to join a book club, please see Mrs. Barnes in the library.  Lower School sign-up sheets will be available in each study hall at the beginning of September.

You can join these groups at any time.  Even if you can’t make one of the meetings, you can always join the online discussion at any time.  Log on to the discussion wiki for the book club.

Another way to keep up with Book Club is to check out Mrs. Barnes's Goodreads pages for a list of the selections of the Lower School Guys Read and Upper School Read for Fun groups.  For more ideas on good books, see these nominees from the Lower School Guys Read  and Upper School Read for Fun clubs.
