The Blue team finished off the season in fine fashion earning a 22 to 0 victory over St. Dominic. This win was the 7th of the season for the team. It was an outstanding season and congrats to players and coaches.
St. Dominic was a strong team and this game was a tight contest throughout the first half with neither team able to score. Our coaches made a nice adjustment at half and the Owls came out strong in the 3rd quarter running the ball effectively. CJ Johnson carried the ball 7 straight times before finding the endzone from 9 yards out to put the Blue on the board. He also rushed in for the 2PAT. A quick defensive stop gave the Owls good field position and Johnson streaked in from 32 yards for his 2nd TD of the night. He again also rushed in for the 2PAT. Johnson finished off this great 2nd half blitz with a 30 yard rush in the 4th quarter. The 2PAT pass failed.
The Blue defense was tough all night. Behind the incredible DL line play of Dion Stutts the Suns were never able to consistently run the ball. The Suns had entered the game as one of the best offenses in the league so this was no small feat.
Once again congrats to players and coaches on a great victory last night over St. Dominic.
The Blue Team recorded another impressive victory last night beating SGIS 36 to 0. The team came out strong putting 24 points on the board in the 1st quarter. The first score came on a 44 yard run by Mac Barcroft. Aidan Glover scrambled in for the 2 PAT. After SGIS failed to convert on a 4th down attempt at midfield because of a nice tackle by Joakim Dodson, Barcroft added the 2nd TD as well on a 5 yard run. The final 1st quarter TD was by Dodson on a 55 yard interception return. A Glover pass to George Steffens converted the 2PAT making the score 24 to 0.
Late in the 2nd Quarter the Owls scored on a 3 yard scramble by Glover. Sam Wilson made a nice interception at midfield to close out action in the 1st half. The clock was running the entire 2nd half. In the 3rd quarter Glover connected with Wilson on a 22 yard TD pass but the 2PAT failed. That produced the final score of 36 to 0. Late in the 4th quarter the Owls had a turnover that gave SGIS a chance for a late TD but that was nixed by a Dion Stutts fumble recovery. The defensive line of Stutts, Jack Fowler, William Mallory, and Jackson Ford were dominant the entire night.
Next Wednesday the Blue team will try to finish the season undefeated when they host a strong St. Dominic team. Game time is at 6pm here at Stokes Stadium to be followed be the Red team also trying for and undefeated season hosting the St. Louis #2 team.
The Blue team came back from fall break and had a good win over ECS 38 to 0 at Stokes Stadium. The defense provided the first score when Joakim Dodson returned an interception 44 yard for a TD. Aeden Glover's pass to Mac Barcroft scored the 2PAT. In the 2nd quarter Glover found Barcroft for a couple of TD passes. The first covered 12 yards and the 2nd was for 15. On the 2nd TD Glover hit Dodson for the 2PAT. This produced a halftime score of 22 to 0. The defense was dominate against the ECS offense rarely making any positive yardage as the Dion Stutts was a huge force inside.
In the 2nd half Glover found George Steffens for an 8 yard score and then hit Dodson again for the 2PAT. After a nice interception and return by Sam Wilson the Owls ran the ball in for their final TD with Ihsan Omer getting the score on a 7 yard run. He also rushed it in for the 2PAT. ECS mounted a late drive in the 4th quarter that was snuffed out on a nice 4th down sack by William Mallory.
This win improved the Blue team record to 5 and 0. They will host SGIS next Thursday at Stokes Stadium at 6pm.
