More than 21,000 meals will be sent to hungry people all over the world, thanks to 117 volunteers who filled the Dining Hall Saturday to supportRise Against Hunger, a partner in the Civic Service Organization’s Students vs. Hunger project this year. The mission of Rise Against Hunger is to end hunger “by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.”
The event was led by senior Captain Kayhan Mirza, junior Daniel Meskin, sophomore Colin McCown, and freshman Forest Rudd, with the help of CSO junior executive member Kyle Koester, who served as liaison to the planning crew. Science Instructor Wayne Mullins’ homeroom raised the most money in support of the event.
