7th and 8th Grade Basketball Teams Win Shelby League

The seventh and eighth grade basketball teams recently completed their seasons, with each capturing Shelby League Championship honors.
The seventh grade Hoop Owls ended with a 24-1 record. Shelby League Tournament MVP honors went to Joakim Dodson, while Milling Chapman and Marcus Moore were named to the Shelby League All-Tournament Team. Mathis Memorial Turkey Shoot Tournament and the St. Ann Bartlett MLK Tournament.

The eighth grade team enjoyed an equally stellar season, also finishing with a 24-1 overall record. Brandon Nicholson was named the Shelby League Tournament MVP, and Jackson Ransom and Jack Haddad made the Shelby League All-Tournament Team. Pictured from left are Assistant Coach Austin “AG” George, Parks Painter, Mac Barcroft, Sims Miller, Van Thompson, Myles Gill, Brandon Nicholson, Makhi Shaw, Griffin Brown, Jackson Ransom, Jack Haddad, Sam Wilson, Kristopher Horne, and Coach Wes Crump. This team scored an average 50 points per game during the season and also won the 2019 James W. Mathis Memorial Turkey Shoot Tournament.
