Robert O'Kelley Named Varsity Assistant Coach

Robert O'Kelley has been hired as an assistant varsity basketball coach for the Memphis University School basketball program.
 
O'Kelley, a Memphis native and 2001 graduate of Wake Forest University, brings a wealth of basketball experience to the Owls' program. At Wake Forest he earned the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Year honors in 1998, helped the Demon Deacons to a National Invitation Tournament postseason championship in 2000, and finished as a senior leader on a team that competed in the 2001 NCAA tournament. His status as one of the best shooters in ACC history earned him ACC Legend honors in 2011. He currently ranks 14th in ACC history and third in Wake Forest history for career 3-point field goals made with 288.
 
After having graduated from Wake Forest, O'Kelley pursued a professional career that included stops in Spain, Belgium, Iceland, Hungary, and Brazil. His last stop as a player was with the Memphis Grizzlies summer-league team in 2004.
 
Since having retired as a professional player, O'Kelley has served as an assistant varsity basketball coach and head freshman team coach for his alma mater, White Station High School, and director of recreation at Second Presbyterian Church. He is currently a sales agent with Farm Bureau Insurance.
 
O’Kelley and his wife, Kacie, have a 5-year-old daughter, Aniyah.
