MBA Father Ryan Recap

It was a great night to be an MBA student. I can say without a doubt that MBA students do their homework, do their research, and come prepared, and I am not just referring to their lacrosse team but their student body and fans on the crowded sideline.

For those who have not experienced playing lacrosse at MBA, it is one of the best atmospheres to play a game. If you are a visiting MUS team, you can expect the students will know your number, your name, your girlfriend’s name, your sister’s name, and anything else they can find to use to support their team. For one night you will have the pleasure of being treated like a celebrity athlete, like Lebron James on the road getting worked by every experienced heckler in the house. It is an awesome and electrifying atmosphere that our players have learned to enjoy over the years. Even when we lose, our guys always have a good story to tell about the MBA student body. When it is all said and done, it is the kind of experience that helps you grow a few more hairs on your chest.

As the proverb says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” We ran into the sharp teeth of the MBA buzzsaw, and although the saw cut and tore our hearts, it is the kind of thing we need to help sharpen our team. The great thing about competition is it has the potential to bring the best out in us.

We do not have much time to dwell in the past because we are playing at ECS this Tuesday night, and then it is off on the road on Thursday as we travel to play our out-of-state rivals MICDS, whom we have played five out of the last six years. We know they will be good, being the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Missouri State Champions, but I expect us to be up to the task.
