Legacy Cup Tournament Recap

Last weekend, we traveled to Georgia to compete in the 11th annual Legacy Lacrosse Cup, our eighth time participating in this prestigious event. It has been a great opportunity for our team over the years, not just for the competition but for the valuable message the event sends to our players. The vision of this event is to showcase elite lacrosse at the high-school level. They also want to make sure the game is played at the highest level in the most competitive environment. Their message is to encourage players to live a life that will have a positive and meaningful impact on teammates, classmates, and other members of the community.

In addition to the two games we played, the organizers of the event recognize one player on each team who most personifies the three pillars of the Legacy Lacrosse Cup: character, camaraderie, and competitiveness. Winners are nominated and voted on by their team members and announced at a dinner. This year’s Legacy Leadership Award for the MUS team went to Sellers Shy. Congratulations to Sellers on this recognition.

The Legacy Lacrosse Cup was started in memory of Parker Jackson, a sixteen-year-old sophomore playing for Milton High School Lacrosse who died in a single vehicle accident November 7, 2006.
