Lacrosse Play Offs Begin

Every game is potentially the last game in the postseason. Teams can approach the postseason a number of different ways. It can be seen as having to fight for survival or an opportunity to fight to gain an opportunity to gain glory.

Last week, we had a good week of practice, and it showed when we played Father Ryan in the TSLA quarterfinal game at home on Saturday, winning 19-7.

This week, we are preparing for our rematch against MBA in the semifinals. We are returning to the scene of the 12-0 loss back in early April. MBA runs an outstanding and well-balanced “Pairs” style offense; they have left-handed and right-handed shooters; they can all dodge; they are dangerous off ball; and they share and move the ball very efficiently. We will have to have outstanding communication and team defensive effort to slow down the MBA offense. Most importantly, we will need to focus and take care of all aspects of the game that we did not the first time, particularly face-offs, ground balls, clearing, riding, and offensive possessions. We really need another good week of practice this week, and I expect that we will and be ready for Friday!
