St. Louis #2 Recap

On a cool and misty night the Red team beat the visiting St. Louis #2 team 23 to 0. This win gave the Red team 8 victories and an undefeated season.

The game began with a nice drive by the Red squad with Brandon Nicholson going the final 8 yards on a rush around the left side. Andrew Tancredi tacked on the PAT. The defense kept the momentum going later in the quarter when Casey Cooper tackeld the runner in the endzone for a safety giving the Owls a 9 to 0 lead at the end of the 1st period. Later in the 2nd period the Owls struck paydirt again. This time Grayson Pollan found Parks Painter in the left flat and then Painter made a great run shaking off 5 attempted tacklers to get the endzone from 28 yards out. Tancredi's PAT split the uprights and the Red squad goes in at the half up 16 to 0. The final "official" score of the night came midway in the 3rd quarter when 7th grade QB Louis Brundick throws a nice ball to Van Thompson who makes a nice catch and spins away from the defender to get to paydirt and complete the 24 yard play. Tancredi with the help of holder Pollan and the dependable snapping of Walker Griesbeck completed the scoring for a final score of 23 to 0. The Red tried to add a little excitement in the 4th quarter but nice runs by Nathaniel Griffin and Catcher Miller were called back because of holding penalties.

Congrats to players and coaches on finishing the season 8-0.
