MUS 2021 Lower School Lacrosse Introduction

Welcome to the MUS Lower School Lacrosse Program.  I hope that everyone is doing well, and I know that all are looking forward to a much needed Thanksgiving break.  I have included you on this email if you played last year or have signed up with interest in playing in the Spring.  Right now, I am moving forward with scheduling games and running the season as a “normal” season though we do not know for sure what the Spring has in store for us yet.  The season will officially start on Saturday, February 6th, but I am working with Coach Towner to have some clinics prior to that.

I will be sending more information about the upcoming season over the next couple of weeks, but please review the following:

  • Please Respond to me with the following information:
    • US Lacrosse # (uslacrosse.org/membership - $25.00):
    • US Lacrosse # Expiration Date:
    • Preferred Position:
    • Preferred Jersey # (0-59).  Pick 5:
** Note that I will give preference on Jersey numbers in order of those who reply with the requested information - 8th graders will get preference over 7th graders on their Jersey number preference though.

  • MUS Team Helmets (See attached flyer) – In the Lower School, we do not require that the helmets match, but it is required at the JV and Varsity.  If you are looking to purchase a new lacrosse helmet, Coach Towner has worked out a deal with BSN Sports so our players can order the MUS team Royal Blue Cascade helmet which retails for around $250-$290 for $198 through the following team website:

  • “Normal” Schedule – In the past, we have scheduled our practices for Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-8 pm and Saturday mornings from 10 am – Noon.  Most of the time, our games will be schedules at these same times.

  • Getting Ready for the Season - Make sure that you have a stick in your hand before then by hitting a wall or finding someone to throw with.  Also, if you are not in another MUS sport, make sure that you are getting in shape for the season by running, jumping rope, doing lunges, push-ups, sit-ups, etc.  Make sure you are ready to do play at full speed when the season arrives.

If you know someone interested that did not receive this email, please forward it on to them and let me know.  Also, if you have decided not to play this Spring, please let me know that as well.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks.
