2017-18 Trap Team Information

Trap shooting parents---

Another trap season is upon us.  We practice Monday afternoons at Shelby Farms and Saturday mornings at MSSA in Lakeland (JV 8-9:30 AM and Varsity9:30-12).  All shooters are expected to be at all practices.  3 unexcused absences will result in the shooters returning to PE and not being able to shoot in the next tournament.   All first-year shooters are JV regardless of grade.  Our tournaments are all on Saturdays at MSSA.  Times will vary each tournament.  The schedule will be posted on the trapshooting webpage.  I will do my best to communicate any schedule changes or cancellations through the owl alert system. 

There is a link to the All-American order page for our uniform and other items available for purchase.  All shooters need to have a polo shirt. If you have one from a previous year, you don’t need to order a new one. You will receive the link to this web page via email. 

 

All shooters will be charged a $300 activity fee which covers all association fees, ATA dues, clays and shoot registration fees.  All first-year shooters will be charged an additional $35 to cover a team shooting belt and towel. This will be charged through the business office.

 

The school is going to purchase ammo for the tournaments, but EACH SHOOTER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR AMMO USED DURING PRACTICE.  I am going to make a bulk order for practice ammo.  I anticipate that each shooter will shoot 8-10 cases of ammo over the course of the season.  I can purchase ammo for about $55 a case.  Please email me ASAP if you would like to order ammo through the school. 

 

 The school has 5 guns that are available to use both at practice and for the tournaments.  You do not have to purchase a trap gun.
