Based on a character from British melodrama and urban legend, Sweeney Todd spins the tale of a vengeful London barber on a throat-slashing murder spree, abetted by Mrs. Lovett, an antic pie baker with fiendish recipe ideas. Part Hamlet and part Walking Dead, with a healthy(?) portion of Jack the Ripper, Sweeney Todd features tuneful songs by one of Broadway’s most celebrated composers, Stephen Sondheim. A horror-thriller just in time for Halloween!
