The Frosh Owls came back from fall break and participated in a combo game against the Fairley JV squad helping our team to a 32 to 0 victory. The Owls started sluggishly as you would expect after a week off but the 9th grade got the scoring started on a 15 yard pass from Dhilan Madasu to Zach McKnight. The PAT was added by Jacob Stalls.
The frosh defense came up big in the 2nd half producing two safeties. Both of these were caused by bad snaps from center implying that Dylan Taylor's aggressive play at nose guard was a factor.
The Frosh close out there season next Monday at CBHS. Game time is at 5:30.
The 9th grade Owls fell to Houston by a score of 13-0. After three quarters the score was 0 to 0 and the Owls had made a successful drive into scoring position but came away without any points. On the first play of the 4th quarter the Mustangs broke a long 80 yard run to go up 7 to 0. They punched another score in after gaining good field position from the Owls.
The team is off for fall break next Monday and will resume action on October 9 against Fairley. Still to be determined if this will be a combo game with the JV or a double-header.
Our freshman team lost a tough game last night to a very talented White Station group by a score of 12 to 7. Not sure I have seen a more impressive 9th grade team physically than what White Station trotted out. Big and fast. I thought our guys really played hard and we had a couple of chances to seal the win but unfortunately came up short. The group will seek to get back on the winning track next Monday when we host Houston.
