The varsity basketball Owls withstood a late rally to take a victory over CBHS. MUS improves to 21-5 with the win, its third over the Brothers in the last two seasons.
Brandon Nicholson led the Owls with 21 points. Bennett Frazer and Myles Gill each had eight points while Makhi Shaw and Henry Duncan added six.
MUS will begin play in the TSSAA State Tournament with a home matchup in the first round at Ross Lynn Arena on Wednesday, February 21. The opponent is to be determined.
MUS took home the Smoky Mountain Winter Classic Yellow Division title with an 80-43 win over Johnson Central (KY). Owen Sharp led the Owls with 26 points. Brandon Nicholson added 11 points, Makhi Shaw had 10, and Andrew Ogbeide scored seven.
