Black Named Communications MVP

Senior Daniel Black was honored with the Communications MVP Award in chapel April 30. This award recognizes one outstanding Twitter reporter who has gone over and above while representing the school online. In recognition of Black’s exceptional creativity, consistency, congeniality, trustworthiness, and accuracy, he received an encased commemorative baseball signed by the members of the varsity team.

The Communications MVP Award is not necessarily given every year. According to Assistant Director of Communications Rebecca Greer, the last award was given in 2012.

"The quality of our Twitter feed is directly proportional to the dedication of the volunteers who agree to do the reporting," Greer said. "Our thanks go out to each young man who has contributed this year, but especially to Daniel, who has covered more than one sport and has also written recaps for Inside MUS. He's been a lot of fun to work with, and he'll be missed."

Students interested in reporting for the school's Twitter account, @OwlBuzz, should see Mrs. Greer in the Communications Office.
