Celebrating Our Eagle Owls

Seventeen Owls have reported achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 2017-18. Seniors Tate Bailey, Mack Bethell, William Dellinger, Thompson McDonald, Jackson Moody, Peter Raves, Stan Smythe, Landon Springfield, and Jason Wang; juniors Bailey Keel, Stillman McFadden, Matt Rhodes, and Warren Turner; sophomores Robert Dickinson and Alex Warr; freshman Griffin Hood; and eighth grader McRae Dickinson have achieved the highest attainable rank in the Boy Scouts of America.

This rank requires years to fulfill; the scout must earn at least 21 merit badges, pass a lengthy review process, lead a community service project, and demonstrate an ideal attitude based upon the Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. The Eagle Scout program is over 100 years old, and historically only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank.

Send your 2017-18 or 2018-19 Eagle ceremony information to Mrs. Rebecca Greer at rebecca.greer@musowls.org, and let her know which of the two school years the rank was achieved.
