8th Graders Attend First Manhood Breakfast

The Manhood Breakfast speaker series kicked off September 16 with alumni Keith McBride ’10 and Paul Stephens ’10. Eighth graders gathered in Wunderlich Auditorium for breakfast and to hear from these two leaders. Student Life Coordinator Stephond Allmond ’10, who organized the monthly series, helped lead the early morning discussion.
McBride, a senior project management analyst at FedEx, discussed how moving to MUS shaped his life and how he handled the academic rigor. A member of the 2008 and 2009 state champion football teams, McBride also talked about navigating the transition from another school in ninth grade.

Stephens, a broker at McVean Trading & Investments, spoke about moving from eighth to ninth grade and offered tips on managing the change in workload. Building a good routine and creating positive habits in Lower School will help them prepare for future challenges, he said.

Both speakers described how Community Creed principles still apply in their lives

The next Manhood Breakfast for eighth graders will be October 14 at 7:30 a.m.
