Knowledge Bowl Co-Champion

Our team is co-champion of the 2017 WREG Knowledge Bowl competition, and seniors Brooks Eikner and Aneesh Ram and juniors Jackson Howell, Chang Yu, and alternate Omkar Hosad each will receive a college scholarship of $6,500.
Lausanne was originally named winner of the 32-school, single-elimination competition. However, a series of questions used in the Lausanne-MUS championship match had been asked and answered in the Lausanne-Arlington semifinal match, resulting in an unfair advantage for the Lynx competitors. Consequently, WREG threw out the final match results and named MUS co-champion. Originally scheduled to air May 20, the championship broadcast will not be shown.

Darin Clifft, advisor to the team and instructor in math, noticed at least a dozen repeated questions during the broadcast of the Lausanne-Arlington match May 6, and he alerted WREG.

Assisting Clifft with the team are Instructor in History Jonathan Large, Instructor in History Davis Smith, and Instructor in Math Phillip Stalls.
