Congrats to MUS Blue on the 34 to 6 win over a solid St. Dominic squad at Stokes Stadium. This pushes the record to 6-0.
Coach Wade offered the following comments: "
“Great night on Hull-Dobbs Field! The boys delivered an outstanding 34-6 victory over St. Dominic School. St. Dominic has many players who will likely be wearing the Purple and Gold of CBHS one day, and they brought an outstanding running back and QB combo to the field. Our team oriented defense, which has continued to improve throughout the year, thanks largely impart to the coaching of Henry Dickinson and Ben Stallworth kept the St. Dominic offense in check. A flurry of outstanding tackles by linebackers Drew Clift, Eddie Wilson, and Stryker Aitken along with pressure and sacks from defensive ends Mac Barcroft, R’Chaun King and Brown Nickey proved to be too much for the SDS offense to handle. Our seventh graders led by Mac Barcroft and Ihsan Omer played a lot in the second half and only gave up one last minute score.
As he has done the entire year, 7th Grade starting QB Aidan Glover remained poised and sent TD passes to Drew Clift and Jack Blackwell while also completing many other passes for conversions and first downs. Brandon Nicholson and Aiken Stryker delivered running TDs behind a strong offensive line anchored by Jackson Moore, Ihsan Omer, Dylan Robinson, William Watkins, and TE Ben McBride.
Special Teams had their best game of the year with a blocked punt, a Jack Blackwell 70 yard kickoff return for TD, and numerous deep kicks by Drew Clift…unfortunately Drew did not get a chance to show off his punting skills as the offense did their part and was never held to a deep fourth down.
Next Thursday the MUS Blue Team finish the season against Briarcrest at MUS. I hope everyone makes it out for the Friday Night Varsity Game—Go Owls!”
Both the MUS Blue and MUS Red look to complete perfect seasons next Thursday at MUS. The Blue team takes on the Briarcrest Green team and the Red team tangles with St. Georges.
