MASE Recap

Good start for the Frosh Owls on Monday Night Football. The Owls prevailed 37 to 6 over Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering on Hull-Dobbs Field. This was a combo game with our JV. Our format was to alternate each possession so that both groups got some action. I believe we will do this one additional time this season when we play Southwind.  It was great to see a sideline full or Owls supporting each other.

The Frosh got the scoring started after and excellent defensive series where a great pass rush by Noah Spears, Henry Moak, and Jackson Hood created a fumble that was recovered by Kendon Leakes at the 5 yard line. Shortly after Leakes caught a pass from Maddux Giel to get the Owls initial score for the evening. One of the pleasant surprises of our frosh group has been the development of kicker Joshua Wittber. Josh connected on 4 of 5 PATS for the evening and added a 32 yard field goal.

MASE was a squad composed of mostly 10th and 11th graders so our 9th grade team held up well in their series. The team plays their first regular this Monday at Stokes Stadium against Briarcrest. This will be a rematch of the two best teams in middle school from last year so it should be exciting. Game time is 5:30 followed by the JV team.
