Owls Earn Language Awards
Students performed well in the yearly national language exams in French, Greek, Latin, and Spanish.
French Seven "Hiboux" (Owls) earned awards on the National French Exam, which is the highest honor in the West Tennessee region. Twenty-five students also earned Honorable Mention honors on the exams. These awards placed MUS second in the City of Memphis and fourth in the state. Results can be found

Greek Seven students earned awards in the National Greek Exam for scoring over the national average. Nine students participated in the exam to complement their study of Latin and expand their knowledge of the classical world.
The Blue Award is given to students scoring between 37 and 38 on the exam while the Red Award is granted to those scoring between 34 and 36. The Green Award goes to Owls who score between 30 and 33. Results can be found

Latin Owls received 137 awards for achievement on the 2025 National Latin Exam, including 71 Summa Cum Laude Gold Medals (a 54% increase in the Gold Medal total over last year), 36 Maxima Cum Laude Silver Medals, and 15 Magna Cum Laude and 14 Cum Laude certificates.
Special recognition goes to four students who earned perfect scores this year: eighth graders Kushal Das, Wallace Bradshaw, Graydon Hobson, and Luke Wells, all in Latin I.
Students who score above the national average qualify for recognition. Generally, the top 10 to 15% of students nationwide earn Summa Cum Laude, and the next 10 to 15% receive Maxima Cum Laude. Results can be found

Spanish Fifty-two Spanish students garnered national recognition for their performance on the 2025 National Spanish Examinations. Owls earned a total of 20 Gold, 16 Silver, and 16 Bronze Medals, along with 28 Honorable Mentions.
Gold Medal winners score in the 95th through 99th percentile while Silver Medal winners fall in the 85th through 94th percentile. Bronze Medalists score in the 75th through 84th percentile. Results can be found
