Junior Ben Spiegelman has been elected president of the Honor Council for the 2019-20 school year. The Honor Council president is always the first leadership position elected for the coming school year. As Assistant Headmaster Barry Ray reminded students before the nominees’ speeches March 28, the Honor System – a basis of the school’s founding 125 years ago – is the most sacred tradition MUS has.
In his speech, Spiegelman eloquently articulated the system’s importance.
“Because of the Honor Code, we have a trust with our peers that will last a lifetime. The faculty and staff trust that we take the Honor Code seriously. I hope that you see the value in it, and I hope it is something you live by well beyond your years at MUS.”
