We will recognize Springfield Scholars and inductees into the Order of the Owl and Lower School Latin Honor Society with virtual events. Families have been notified by email if their sons will be honored, and email reminders will be sent the day before each event.
You may watch the Springfield Scholars event HERE Thursday, May 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a live online portion, and honoree families will receive more information about how to join in.
The Order of the Owl and Latin Honor Society event will be HERE Friday, May 15, beginning at noon.

Springfield Scholars: Named in memory of the first Lower School principal, the late Mr. John Murry Springfield, the Springfield Scholars is the most esteemed honor society in the Lower School. An eighth grader qualifies for induction if he is in the top 10 percent of his class based on a weighted numerical average. In addition, he must demonstrate character and community service consistent with the exacting standards of the school’s Honor Code and Community Creed.
Order of the Owl: To be eligible for Order of the Owl induction, eighth graders must have a weighted academic average of 90, and seventh graders must have a weighted academic average of 93 for the year. In addition, all inductees must demonstrate excellent citizenship in accordance with the school Honor Code and Community Creed.
Latin Honor Society: To be inducted into the Latin Honor Society, a student must be a Latin Club member, have an A average in Latin class through the first three quarters of the year, participate in the Latin Fall Festivus and/or TJCL State Convention, and have teacher approval (acceptable behavior, no honor violations in Latin class, etc.).
