Owls Read Features MLK Writings

Last fall the English Department decided to launch the all-school Owls Read program, a required summer reading assignment for all students in Grades 7-12. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and the “I Have a Dream” speech were selected for the inaugural assignment.
In this year’s program we will lead the community in a year-long consideration of the year 1963, focusing on the two works written by King. Faculty and parents are invited to engage the boys in discussions about King’s writings, which may be found readily online or HERE.
