MUS LS Track Breaks Records In Meet 4

The lower School Track team won a 10 team Shelby League Meet yesterday at MUS. The complete meet results are here.
 
Yasir Muhammad set MUS lower-school records in both the 200-meter dash and the long jump.  Yasir’s’ time of 22.81 broke James Rantzow’s 2008 record in the 200 (23.3), and is the second fastest time in the nation by a middle-schooler this year, according to MileSplit.  His  jump of 20’01” broke Stephond Allmond’s 2006 mark of 19’06” and ranks him in the top 20 in the nation among long jumpers.  Yasir also won the 100 Meter dash with a time of 11.37 seconds
 
Other winners yesterday:
 
Paxton Silver won the Hurdles:  16..6
 
Turner Davis won the high Jump: 5’3”
 
Joakim Dodson won the 400 meter dash:  54.9. seconds
 
Michael Ray won the Shot Put:  43’3”
 
The lower school team of:   Kyle Sneed, Paxton Silver, Joakim Dodson and Yasir Muhammad won the 4 x 100 meter relay (47.1)
 
And the team of  Stanton Miller, Cort Jones, West Lewis, and Marcus McCullers won the 4 x 400 meter relay:  4:17
