Shelby League Lower School Champs

The Lower School cross country “varsity” team won the middle school meet at the Shelby League Championship on October 19 at Shelby Farms. Eighth grader Porter Spiceland won the race with a time of 11:28.
The top seven “varsity” Owls were: Spiceland; eighth grader Dallas Keras, seventh place, 12:27; eighth grader Carter Wildrick, 13th, 13:00; seventh grader Coleman Russell, 14th, 13:01; eighth grader Michael Langston, 15th, 13:08; eighth grader Joshua Gramm, 18th, 13:17; and eighth grader Albert Ding, 28th, 13:38.
 
The Lower School “junior varsity” runners who took the top five places in their race were seventh grader Webb Canale, 13:36; seventh grader Carson Alexander, 13:50; seventh grader Will Brezina, 13:55; eighth grader Davis Younker, 14:02; and eighth grader Trey McDonald, 14:05.
 
In other news, the Lower School cross country team finished second in the regional meet October 16 at Shelby Farms and qualified for the Tennessee State Elementary and Middle School Cross Country Championships at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville on October 23.
