Eighth grader Sohum Valaulikar was the winner of the MUS Spelling Bee round held October 27. Seventh grader Kaanit Valiani took second, and seventh grader Luke Henry took third. The trio will advance to next round to be held November 10.
Those earning top placements during the October and November bees will compete for the school championship, the Terry N. Shelton Spelling Bee. The championship winner will represent the school in the city competition and hopefully advance to the national level in the spring. The school championship was named in honor of longtime English teacher and spelling bee advisor, the late Mr. Shelton.
