Finney to Direct Lower School Athletics

Director of Athletics Thad McCracken has announced the appointment of Kyle Finney as Lower School Director of Athletics.
“I am more than excited for Coach Finney to assume the role of Lower School Athletic Director,” McCracken said. “He has been a dedicated teacher and coach for many years and has great familiarity with the Athletics Department. He will be an outstanding asset for the boys and coaches, and we are grateful to have him in this position.”
Finney joined the MUS faculty in 2007 as an assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, and instructor in physical education. He has helped lead the Owls to two football state championships, four state runner-up finishes, and nine region titles. During his time on the baseball coaching staff, the Owls made five state-championship-game appearances and won five region titles. He has deep familiarity with the Lower School, having coached seventh and eighth grade physical education for the last 17 years. Finney replaces Coach Matt Bakke, who retired after 25 years of service to MUS.
“I am very excited to be chosen for this position,” Finney said. “I look forward to working with our Lower School boys and their coaches and building upon the strong foundation laid by Coach Bakke.”
