2025-26 Freshman Football Team Invitation
Rising Grade 9 Families, please consider this your official invitation to join next year’s freshman football team. The team has an open membership policy allowing any Owl to join the team, and we strive to be a competitive program where playing time is based off skill level, effort, and safety. We usually have approximately 30-35 boys on our roster.
We currently have 5 games scheduled for the 9th grade team and are looking to add two games later in the season. Most of our games will be against true 9th grade teams. However, due to small numbers at other schools, some games will be against combo teams of both 9th and JV players. All MUS upper school players practice together, which allows each boy to be instructed by our varsity position coaches. This also begins the coach/player relationship that will grow over 4 years and beyond.
We understand that high school sports can be a significant commitment for both players and their families, but we believe the rewards are well worth the effort. By participating in our program, your son will have the chance to form lifelong friendships, develop leadership skills and learn the values of teamwork and playing for something greater than himself. Football is a sport where effort can overcome talent and there is truly something special about the feeling and excitement of a Friday night. We hope that you will want to experience it with us!
