CBHS RECAP

The JV Owls traveled to CBHS for the final game of the season and came away with a 21 to 14 victory. This gave the squad a 5-0 record for the year. It was a hard fought game as one would expect. The 1st quarter went quickly with each team having a good drive that stalled out. CBHS got on the board with a 30 yard TD pass late in the 2nd quarter and led at the half 7 to 0.

The 2nd half started with a bang as JP Hogan returned the KO 88 yards for a TD. Chris Yarbro tacked on the PAT to tie the score. The defense got a stop and then the offense put together a 79 yard 9 play drive that was capped off by a George Hamsley to Drew Burnett 12 yard TD pass. Yarbro was on target again to push the score to 14 to 7. In the 4th quarter Alex Coffman finished off a 8 play 40 yard drive with a 3 yard TD run. Following another successful Yarbro kick the Owls led 21 to 14. CBHS did put together a nice end of game drive and got the late score, making the final at 21 to 14.

The Owl defense was good again. Excellent play from Vincent Perkins who was credited with 9 tackles and 1 pass break up along with secondary mates JP Hogan (1 fumble recovery) and Mac Owens (1 int). Sacks came from McRae Dickinson, Tamaz Young, Chris Parks, and Jack Ryan. Clayton Nearn recovered a fumble as well.

These guys show us they will be ready to step up next year on Friday nights and continue the strong tradition of MUS Football. Congrats on a great season.
