Join the MUS counselors for coffee and a discussion of Jessica Lahey’s book The Gift of Failure Thursday, October 18, at 8:15 a.m. in the Campus Center Dining Hall. A teacher and a writer, Lahey focuses on the critical school years when students must learn to tolerate disappointment and frustration so that they can grow up to be successful, resilient, and self-reliant adults. Laying out a blueprint for ways parents can support their children, this book gives targeted advice for embracing mistakes and handling homework, report cards, social dynamics, and sports.
