Musicians Top Competition

Band and orchestra students traveled to St. Louis to compete in the Music in the Parks Festival at Six Flags April 25. The Owls performed first and ended up with the highest score of any instrumental group in the competition.
They also received the Espirit de Corps award to commend their integrity, character, and desire for excellence.

This award not only acknowledges the group’s musicianship but also its ability to support and encourage others, both within their group and among other participants.

“The students were wonderful and fun the entire trip!  And their concert performance was the best they’ve ever played!,” said Music Director Chris Piecuch.

Music Instructor Bryan Scott noted that this is the first appearance for the Owls in the musical competition setting, and he anticipated that it is “the first of many accolades to come!”
