Two Owls Advance in DECA Competition

Juniors Albert Ding and Ari Thiyagarajaa advanced to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, April 26-29 after their performance at the state-level competition.
The juniors submitted a proposal titled “Aiming For Apex: Elevating Youth Through Financial Knowledge” in the Financial Literacy Project event at the DECA State Career Development Conference. Their project included a paper and a presentation, both of which were awarded perfect scores by judges.

Ding and Thiyagarajaa wrote that they aim to “inspire students to learn more about personal finance and to take control of their financial futures.” The project lays out a plan for developing resources to help achieve their goals.
