Spring Orchestra, Band Performances

Director of Music Chris Piecuch announces spring performances for MUS Bands and Orchestras.

“Great performances rely on great audiences,” Piecuch says. “Please come out and help us honor these musicians for their hard work. It will be great fun to hear how well these MUSic Owls play!”
Senior Orchestra and Bands Recital, Sunday April 21, 3 p.m., Hyde Chapel
“Our music senior class is the largest yet, and the musicians are very talented and accomplished. This will be a fun afternoon featuring many of them in solo performances. The recital will also include the woodwind trio, Aubade, which recently won the Tennessee Bandmasters Competition and will perform at the Tennessee Music Education Association All-State Conference (April 10-13) along with nine other All-State musicians.”

Memphis Symphony Orchestra Pre-Concert Lobby Performance, Sunday April 28, 2 p.m., University of Memphis Scheidt Center
“This year our full orchestra will be featured at the beginning of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra concert.”

Bands and Orchestra Spring Concert, Tuesday, April 30, 7 p.m., Hyde Chapel
“This is our feature performance for our Upper and Lower wind ensembles, and orchestra – an hour packed with music from Bach to Mendelsohn to Charlie Daniels.”
