Memphis University School offers a wide variety of academic, athletic, and leadership opportunities for boys entering Grades 1-12. Plus, we have a handful of co-ed camps (AP History prep, essay writing, and drum corps). **NEW** - Mid-South Chess will offer a summer chess camp June 10-15 at MUS. Open to all ages and all levels, the camp features coaching from Grandmasters and International and National Masters. Information and registration at www.chesscamp.us.

  • Academic Adventures

    Academic Adventures Director: Mr. Judd Peters
     
    Academic Adventures are designed to be short enrichment opportunities taught in a fun, relaxed environment. 
    • Techie offerings include coding and programming, music recording, robotics, video game design, and videography.
    • Math camps help students brush up their skills in pre-algebra, algebra, or geometry.
    • Essay workshops reinforce the writing fundamentals necessary for students to be successful at the high school level (some classes coed).
    • Foundations in Public Speaking and Leadership camp prepares students to "talk like a boss."
    • Drum Corps Camp teaches the fundamentals of drumming, reading music, and proper technique (coed).
    • Grade-level Reading and Writing Enrichment bolsters summer reading for MUS students.
    • AP History Prep teaches skills necessary for exam success (coed).
    • La Tertulia provides basic practical skills in Spanish.

    All programs will be listed by the grade the student will be in during the 2018-19 academic school year. On the first day of camp, students should report to their designated camp locations.
     
  • Prep-for-Success Courses

    Our Prep-for-Success courses promote scholastic fitness for new and returning MUS students.

  • SLAM Camp

    Get ready for an experience that just might change your life. SLAM is more than just a summer camp; it is an accelerator for high-achieving students. 

    SLAM is the area’s premier leadership development program for young men entering fifth-ninth grades. The program attracts high-achieving students from the Memphis area.

    Designed to foster academic preparedness for emerging academic and social leaders, SLAM develops and connects the future leaders of Memphis.

    Ultimately, SLAM introduces all participants to college-preparatory school experiences and expectations while promoting community relationships for a lifetime of leadership and service. 

    SLAM is a three-week program that involves full days of academics, leadership, and fitness. Candidates must apply and provide a recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, or administrator.

  • Sports Camps

    Sports Director: Mr. Bobby Alston

    Sports build teamwork and confidence and help campers become better athletes. In our popular sports-specific camps that are focused on baseball, basketball, football, lacrosse, soccer, and wrestling, students will develop skills and enhance their overall physical fitness.

  • Sports and Leadership Camps

    Sports and Leadership Director: Mr. Judd Peters

    Sports and Leadership Camp is a half-day, afternoon camp (six weeklong sessions) in which participants develop strength, conditioning, leadership, sportsmanship and more through fitness training and learning a variety of activities.

    All programs will be listed by the grade the student will be in during the 2018-19 academic school year. On the first day of camp, students should report to their designated camp locations.
  • Summer School Review Classes

    Summer School Review Director: Mr. Spencer Reese
    Administrative Assistant, Upper School: Mrs. Cassie Hutto

    Summer School Review classes are required for selected returning students.
