The Upper School track team secured 2nd place out of 14 teams in a competitive meet, showing great depth and flexibility in preparation for the regional meet in May.
Gavin Gatere had a historic night, breaking his second school record this season. Gatere won the 100-meter dash in an impressive 10.75 seconds, surpassing Wes Scott’s long-standing record of 10.77 set in 1998. Gatere also took home 1st place in the 110-meter hurdles, adding to an already impressive day.
Palmer Hinote claimed 1st in the long jump, and Charles Doughtie came out on top in the discus throw, rounding out a trio of event winners for the Owls.
It was a great night of competition and progress as the Owls fine-tune their lineup for regionals.

Pole Vault- Harry Alexander came in 1st and Hunter Fair came in 2nd
1600- Carter Wildrick came in 3rd
110 Hurdles- Gavin Gatere came in 2nd and McEwen Taylor came in 4th
800- Palmer Hinote came in 2nd
Gavin Gatere shattered the discus record with a throw of 164-2, breaking the previous mark of 162-3 set by Haynes McBride all the way back in 1969.
